leaf lace scarf is FINISHED!
May 3, 2008 by lactosefree
Dancing around in circles with the exhilarated joy of a long awaited finished object.
The leaf lace scarf is finished. I forgot to measure it before I put it in the sink so I’m not sure what size it was when I cast off, but the blocked scarf measures 67.5″ by 7″. The scarf took me seven and half weeks to finish.
The scarf pattern is actually quite simple and easy to knit. The problem for me was that my brain couldn’t memorize it and paying attention and staying engaged was hard for me once the thrill of casting on a new project was gone.

I went to my LYS today and bought the Interweave Knits Holiday 2006 issue. I’m going to make the Best Friend Bear by Joan Haigh and Patricia Wulff that’s in the magazine for a baby shower gift. I bought 2 skeins of Laines by Anny Blatt in color Caramel. I think I’m going to use scrap yarn to make the sweater.
And finally, I made it to 100 on my About Me page. In writing it I’ve realized that I love where I live, I’m very opinionated, and that my life is quite simple. I think the process was more of a reflective piece for me than an about me for others.

Your scarf is simply beautiful! I love that you can see a bit of the alpaca halo in the photo you shot.
It’s a beauitful color!! It was just the right choice for
“leaf lace”!!
